FROM SWIMMING TO APPAREL WEARING
I wake before dawn and motor out to wherever the reports say the fishing is good. It’s seasonal of course. Summer is Fluke and Tuna, Fall and Spring are Bass. But the real fun is that you never truly know what’s going to come up out of the depths.
Once home, I make sure my wife is gone and I place the fish on the kitchen counter. A careful preparation of the fish is important. My actual preparation ritual is proprietary.
Depending on the type of print I am doing, I use a variety of inks and paints that coordinate with the type of cloth or paper I am using.
A special finesse with the application of ink assures the best print.
Again, depending on the type of print I am doing, I use a variety of papers and fabrics for each project. If the fish is not adequately prepared, inked, and the material is not applied just right, the print can be ruined.
Remove the material from the fish. This is the most exciting moment as no two prints are ever the same.My favorite prints are the chosen ones - I have them transferred, untouched, to wearable art.
Skin and clean; enjoy the bounty of the sea! This is the best part. My family’s favorite is fish tacos. Fish tacos never fail to get the whole crew around the table for good family time.
